On the morning of September 12, 2022, PPM INSTITUTE invited Professor Pan Zhijuan①, Director of the Discipline Construction and Development Planning Office of Soochow University, to hold a lecture on flexible strain sensing fiber materials-preparation, performance and mechanism for all researchers in the company's office building in the 805 conference room. Dean Ji Shunjun and Vice Dean Yang Junhui also attended the lecture.

The lecture officially started at 10:00 pm. Professor Pan Zhijuan first gave a brief introduction to the members of his research group, and then elaborated on the relevant content of the research group's research on flexible strain sensing fiber materials. He mainly talked about the method of preparing flexible strain sensing fibers/yarns in batches by electrospinning and microfluidic spinning, and constructed multiple/hybrid nanocarbon networks and reinforced phase/continuous phase conductive polymer networks with high strain sensing performance. The synergistic effect of multidimensional nanocarbon and the sensing mechanism of multi-element conductive networks, as well as the anisotropy of oriented carbon fiber films and the mechanism of multi-mode strain sensing, directly realized the functionalization of traditional fabrics through sewing/attaching flexible strain sensing fiber materials and other related technologies.

Under Professor Pan’s explanation, the researchers learned about the knowledge related to flexible strain sensing, which allowed us to brainstorm and broaden our horizons, allowing us to appreciate the large market for textile applications and advanced cutting-edge technologies.
