At 9:00 am on August 26, 2022, the first batch of postdoctoral opening reports of Suzhou PPM Postdoctoral Workstation were held in the 805 conference room of Suzhou PPM Materials Technology Co., Ltd. Xu Yiming, Chairman of Suzhou PPM Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Ji Shunjun, Dean of PPM Materials Research Institute, and Yang Junhui, Vice Dean, Zhang Keqin, Dean of the School of Textiles and Clothing of Soochow University, and Guan Jinping, Vice Dean, and Ji Peng, Associate Professor of the School of Materials of Donghua University, attended the opening report meeting as members of the expert group. Wang Qunfeng of the Talent Section of the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Xiangcheng District, Cui Ying, Deputy Director of the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Xiangcheng Economic Development Zone, and Zhang Ye of the Talent Section attended the report meeting. The meeting was chaired by Professor Wang Huaping, Vice Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology of Donghua University, and the head of the expert group.

At the report meeting, Mr. Xu Yiming, Chairman of Suzhou PPM, first delivered a welcome speech. In his speech, Chairman Xu Yiming expressed his heartfelt thanks to the experts present. He hopes that through the postdoctoral research project, he can promote technical and academic exchanges with the institute from point to surface, stimulate the passion for learning and exploration of R&D personnel, and drive the overall progress of the scientific and technological R&D personnel of the institute, so as to build the company's postdoctoral research workstation into a high-level workstation. At the same time, he also hopes to take the company's postdoctoral research workstation as an opportunity to establish a long-term, stable and friendly industry-university-research cooperation relationship with Donghua University and Soochow University, further tap the potential for cooperation, increase cooperation efforts, broaden the scope of cooperation, closely combine the company's "14th Five-Year Plan" development plan, take new products, new processes and new technologies as the main research and development direction, and focus on the development of high-quality, high-performance, differentiated high-value-added new products. Put the company on the road of high-quality and sustainable development.

Subsequently, Luo Xiaogang, a postdoctoral fellow at the PPM Postdoctoral Workstation, gave a thesis opening report on "Continuous construction of carbon nanotube-modified polymer conductive fibers and their application in flexible sensor devices", and Zhou Yuyang, a postdoctoral fellow, gave a thesis opening report on "Research on hydrophilic modification of PET fibers". Dr. Xie Wei, a doctoral student at Donghua University, also gave a pre-report on the thesis opening report on "Preparation and research of high-performance masterbatch for polylactic acid fibers". The two postdoctoral fellows proposed specific research methods and technical ideas based on the current research status of the topic at home and abroad, and discussed the difficulties, solutions, research plans and expected goals of the research paper. Then, the postdoctoral fellows defended the project-related questions raised by the experts; the expert group made detailed comments on the thesis opening report and put forward some constructive suggestions. Finally, the expert group fully discussed the thesis opening reports of Luo Xiaogang and Zhou Yuyang, as well as the pre-report of Xie Wei's doctoral thesis opening report. The experts at the meeting agreed that their research topics were cutting-edge and practical, the research plans and technical routes were feasible, and the research plan was reasonably arranged, and agreed to the thesis opening.

The successful holding of this postdoctoral thesis proposal meeting marks that the operation of PPM’s postdoctoral research workstation has entered a new stage. It will play an important role in attracting high-level scientific research talents, carrying out industry-university-research cooperation, and improving the company’s R&D level. PPM will also start from the overall situation of talent training and future development, give full play to the positive role of the postdoctoral research workstation in scientific research, talent introduction and cultivation, and effectively promote the company’s sustained and rapid development.
