Wang Rui is a professor at the School of Materials Design and Engineering of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, and a part-time doctoral supervisor at Sichuan University and Tianjin Polytechnic University. He is a Beijing scholar, an expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, a talent in science and technology management with outstanding contributions in Beijing, a candidate for the Beijing New Century Hundred Thousand Talents Project, a national outstanding scientific and technological worker, a high-level talent and top-notch innovative talent in Beijing's municipal colleges and universities. He is mainly engaged in the research on the preparation and structural properties of functional fibers, and the research on ultrafine fiber forming technology and theory. In recent years, he has presided over and participated in more than 50 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects. He won 2 second prizes in the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 3 first prizes in the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, 1 first prize in the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award (Youth Award) and the Hong Kong Sangma Textile Technology Award, 1 first prize in the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China Light Industry Council, 1 second prize in the Science and Technology Progress Award of Shandong Province, the Major Technology Progress Award for Promoting the Technology Upgrading of the Textile Industry in the Past 30 Years of Reform and Opening Up, the Special Contribution Award of the Science and Technology Award of the China National Textile and Apparel Council (Sangma Scholar) and the Textile Academic Award. He has published more than 200 academic papers, co-authored 5 books, and obtained more than 50 invention patents.
