On the afternoon of May 18, 2022, PPM INSTITUTE OF FUNCTIONAL MATERIALS specially invited Mr. Tao Haifeng, Director of Suzhou Chuangyuan Patent and Trademark Office, and Ms. Zhao Lili of the Jiangsu Branch of the National Patent Examination Center, to hold a knowledge lecture on patent application and patent examination for all researchers of the institute and some technical personnel of the company in the 805 conference room of the company's office building. Dean Ji Shunjun and Vice Dean Yang Junhui also attended the lecture.

The lecture officially started at 13:15 in the afternoon. Teacher Tao Haifeng took the preparation of patent application briefing documents as the theme, and from 4 different aspects, he elaborated on the basic requirements, main contents, patent authorization conditions and briefing materials for patent applications in different fields. Teacher Zhao Lili explained the key points and accuracy that need to be mastered in patent writing from the perspective of government department review, and through the analysis of examiners in the quality of patents, patent rejections, patent authorizations and reexamination processes, he proposed writing inspirations for patent applicants.

This lecture popularized the patent knowledge of researchers and enhanced their awareness of patent knowledge protection. At the same time, it also increased our enthusiasm and attention for writing patent applications, and laid an important foundation for improving the quality of patent application submissions written by company researchers and technicians and the patent approval rate.
