Expert profile:

Zhang Zhenjie graduated from the Department of Chemistry at the University of South Florida in 2014 with a Ph.D. in Science. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, San Diego from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, he joined the School of Chemistry at Nankai University as an independent research group leader, researcher, and doctoral supervisor. Zhang Zhenjie has created a series of independently developed high-performance crystalline smart materials, published more than 100 papers in top international journals, obtained or applied for more than 30 invention patents, and has been reviewed and reported many times by well-known scientific media and international journals. He has also received funding from the National Youth Talent Program, Tianjin Outstanding Young Scientist, the First Elite Chemistry Award of the Chinese Chemical Society, the American Chemical Society Division of Inorganic Chemistry Young Investigator Award, and the National Outstanding Self-funded Student Scholarship. He serves as an editorial board member of the American Chemical Society Crystal Growth&Design magazine, and a youth editorial board member of Chinese Chemical Letters and Smart Molecules.
