Male, born in August 1972, is a distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor of Soochow University and the dean of the School of Textile and Clothing Engineering of Soochow University. The main research directions are high-performance fiber materials, new functional fiber materials, biomass fibers, biomedical materials and their applications. He has published more than 40 academic papers in world-class SCI journals such as Nature, Physical Review Letters, Small, ACS Applied Materials and Interface, and Biomaterials, with more than 300 citations. Wrote 3 monograph chapters. Applied for 17 patented intellectual property rights, including 6 authorized national invention patents. Hosted the 2013 Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Innovation Team and the 2012 Jiangsu Province University Science and Technology Innovation Team. The total research funding approved in the past three years is more than 10 million yuan. Life member of the American Physical Society, member of the American Society of Materials and Singapore Materials Society, and director of the Chinese Society of Functional Materials. Editorial board member of "International Journal of Textile Science and Technology". In 2010, he was selected into Jiangsu Province’s “Double Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship Talents” program; in 2011, he was selected into Jiangsu Province’s “333” project second-level training target and other talent plans.
