On the morning of November 18, 2023, the first and second academic expert committee meeting of PPM INSTITUTE OF FUNCTIONAL MATERIALS was grandly held in Conference Room 813 of the office building of Poly Plastic Masterbatch (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.

Mr. Chen Xinwei, President of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, sent a video speech to the meeting. President Chen mentioned that PPM leading scientific and technological innovation model, meticulous execution of the enterprise spirit, the fastest and most precise quality policy, the open and dedicated team vitality and the interactive and progressive corporate resilience are important guarantees for the company to maintain stable development. Masterbatch is an important part of promoting the high-quality development of the chemical fiber industry. In the future, PPM will surely move forward towards high quality and sustainable development with functionalization, high performance and greenness as the core.

The meeting was chaired by Wang Huaping, director of the Academic Expert Committee. Ji Shunjun, director of the Polydi Functional Materials Research Institute, gave a work report on the 2023 Institute's improvement year. Experts highly affirmed the Institute's work over the past year, and conducted a full and in-depth discussion on the Institute's main research and development topics and content in 2024 and the research direction for the next three years, and gave many valuable suggestions for the Institute. Finally, Director Wang Huaping made a wonderful summary speech. He said: "The research and development work of the Institute must solve the problem of homogeneity, do things that others cannot see, do things that others cannot think of, and do things that others cannot do; industry-university-research cooperation should not only focus on the promotion of projects but also on the cultivation of talents; upstream and downstream cooperation should link channel construction with the market system, truly realize the combination of scientific research, manufacturing, and application, and promote the sustainable development of Polydi in the future."

Mr. Xu Yiming, Chairman of Poly Plastic Masterbatch (Suzhou) Co., Ltd, expressed his sincere gratitude to Chairman Chen for his speech and the experts who attended the committee. He fully affirmed the work results of the Institute, which, under the leadership of the Board of Directors and the guidance of the Expert Committee, has obtained the national postdoctoral research workstation and the nationally recognized CNAS qualification unit in just about a year. It is believed that under the leadership of Mr. Wang Huaping, Director of the Academic Expert Committee, PPM will surely achieve leapfrog development through technological leadership in the future.

On the same afternoon, Yang Junhui, Executive Vice President of the Institute, presided over the invited academic reports of three experts: Professor Wang Rui, doctoral supervisor of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology; Professor Zhang Qinghong, member of the Professor Committee and doctoral supervisor of the School of Materials of Donghua University; and Director Wang Yuping, professor-level senior engineer and director of the National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center. They introduced the latest research results and development trends to everyone. Participants asked questions actively and exchanged ideas enthusiastically, and the academic atmosphere was very strong.
